What operations can you carry out on the cashless supports by using a Fast Charger?
According to how the Fast Charger is configured in programming, it can charge or discharge some credit in the cashless supports. Furthermore some special operation parameters can be programmed, such as: bonus categories, price tables, subscription and points expiry.
What advantages does an operator get by using the Fast Charger?
By using the Fast Charger an operator gets some advantages such as: a direct management of the key/card recharges, a higher security due to the absence of cash inside the vending machines which can be equipped with the cashless system and without further peripherals, and an improved management of other services inside the location (if it is used as discharge credit).
How is a Fast Charger powered?
The Fast Charger can be powered by means of four rechargeable batteries or directly by the mains, with the 12 VDC power supply included with the product.
Why is the display of the Fast Charger sometimes brighter and sometimes darker?
The Fast Charger is a product designed according to some principles of energy saving. The display lighting is managed according to the type of power supply used and to the quantity of available energy. Its brightness is at 100% when it is used with the wall-type power supply, it is at 50% when it is used with batteries and it is in economy condition when the battery charge permits to carry out the operations of credit charge or discharge in the keys/cards. 
After 60 seconds that the Fast Charger is not used, it switches off automatically and definitively. 
When you buy a Fast Charger, what other devices are supplied with it?
Together with the Fast Charger a 12 VDC wall-type power supply and a 64 KB Data-Key for data recording are supplied.
What function has got the 64 KB Data-Key supplied with the Fast Charger?
The 64 KB Data-Key has two main functions by using the Fast Charger: to record the accounting data concerning the quantity of credit charged or discharged from the keys/cards and to permit the access to the programming of the operation parameters of the terminal.
If a programming error of the operator code occurs in the Fast Charger, is it possible to carry out a reset of the data programmed?
Yes, the Fast Charger permits to restore the starting operation values, by simply inserting the Data-Key with a wrong code, enter the 6203 code when it is required on the display and confirm by using the Enter key.

The accounting data recording in the Fast Charger is carried out by inserting the Data-Key and by pressing the Enter key to confirm, when the terminal asks if the data have to be reset. If the terminal works in cash mode by decrease the data concerning the cash recharge are recorded in the Data-Key when the operation is confirmed.
Is it possible to connect a device to the Fast Charger in order to get the printout of the accounting data?
Yes, a CL printer can be connected to the Fast Charger.To get the printout of the accounting data, just connect the printer to the Fast Charger by means of the special harness, insert the Data-Key containing the accounting data already recorded and press the F key to start the printing process.
Is it possible to set an access code to the programming of the Fast Charger in order to limit its use only to the authorized personnel?

Maxi Programmer
What are the functions of the Maxi Programmer into detail?
The Maxi Programmer can execute the database programming in the cash peripherals (coin validators, change giver, bill validators), the update of their firmware release and of some payment systems (ECS Slim, ECS Slim Plus) in addition to the programming of the operation parameters of the ECS Contactless system.
Is the Maxi Programmer able to carry out all the functions with the same configuration?
The inner memory of the Maxi Programmer can be organized by the user so that it can perform some functions rather than others. As a matter of fact it is possible to choose how to cover tha available space: with some firmware releases, with some databases or with a combination of both of them.
Which cables are supplied with the Maxi Programmer?
The cables supplied as standard are: cables for programming the validation peripherals (EUR60, TP95, Eureka), a cable for programming the E.C.S. CL system, a cable for connection to the PC.
How do you switch on the Maxi Programmer?
The Maxi Programmer is switched on by keeping the ON button pressed for at least 1 second.
In the Maxi Programmer, how do you program the coin/bill acceptance parameters, the firmware versions of the Flash products and the E.C.S. Contactless system parameters?
In order to program the coin/bill acceptance parameters the ProCoin, BillValidator, TP95 standard and EasyCoinProfit softwares are used; for the firmware releases of the Flash products the FlashManager software is used and for the E.C.S. CL Systems the MPExpress software is used. The harnesses to be used for each operation are indicated in the user manual of the Maxi Programmer and the procedure to be followed is described in the on-line help of each software.
How do you program the device connected to the Programmer?
The operation results to be very easy: the Maxi Programmer switched on and placed in the proper memory zone is connected to the product to be programmed/updated by means of the proper harness, this product is powered and then programming is started by using the Start button. When programming is ended, the product is switched off, the harness of the Maxi Programmer is disconnected and the peripheral/system is ready to be used with the new information.
What is the F button on the Maxi Programmer used for?
The F button has 3 different functions:
1. when pressed for at least 3 seconds it is used to enter Setup to set the language
2. when pressed normally it is used to reset any error condition that may occur
3. while programming the coin acceptance parameters using the Procoin software it is used to simulate the Coin Validator switching off.
What information is shown on the Maxi Programmer display and the LED's underneath?
The display shows the programs stored in the Maxi Programmer and programming phases of the connected device (including any communication errors). The LED's indicate that programming has occurred.
Can the user customize the main menu of the Maxi Programmer?
The user can customize the main menu of the Maxi Programmer by choosing the most interesting functions he intends to use.
How many items does the configuration menu of the Maxi Programmer consist of?

Network Module
What is the Network Module?
The Network Module is a tool which can read the accounting data from Coges payment systems and send them by e-mail to the addressees specified in programming. Furthermore it permits to send via SMS some messages concerning some events such as the opening of the vending machine door or the power failure.
How is the Network Module powered?
The Network Module needs a 24V AC power supply. This power supply can come from a wall power supply, or the voltage present in the connector of the Executive harness of the connected systems can be used. In case of power failure, the Network Module is equipped with a battery holder which can contain 4 rechargeable NI-MH 2000mAh batteries.
To what payment systems can the Network Module be connected?
The Network Module can be connected to Coges advanced payment systems: E.C.S. Platinum Key-Card system and EuroCoin Coin Mechanism.
Can a Network Module manage more payment systems?
Yes, a Network Module can manage at the same time up to three payment systems which are connected by means of some special harnesses.
What does a Network Module consist of?
A Network Module consists of a logic board, which is housed into two metal shells, an antenna and a power supply harness which can be connected to a payment system too.
How can the second and third payment system be connected to a Network Module?
The second and the third payment system can be connected to a Network Module by using the special harnesses available at any Coges authorised dealer.
How are the accounting data sent from the payment system by using the Network Module?
The Network Module sends the accounting data read by a payment system by means of an e-mail message with an enclosed file which contains all the data in EVA-DTS format.
Which events can be signalled via SMS with a Network Module?
With a Network Module the following events can be signalled via SMS: power failure, opening of the vending machine door, lack of serial communication, mains failure,  Exact Amount condition, reaching of Maximum Takings and exceeding/fall of the temperature with respect to a programmed interval.
In order to receive this last signalling, it is necessary to connect to the module the special temperature probe, which can be requested at Coges authorised dealers.
Can a Network Module be configured in order to operate with any SIM card present on the market?
Yes, the Network Module can operate with any brand of SIM card present on the market, provided that the installation zone is covered by the phone service managing the SIM card and that this is enabled for the GPRS traffic (for sending e-mails).
When does a Network Module send the accounting data by e-mail?
A Network Module sends the accounting data by e-mail, after a phone call to the installed SIM card, or in an automatic way according to the time and expiry programmed, or when the takings value which can be configured in the module is reached.
Can the Network Module be updated?
Yes, the Network Module is equipped with a Flash memory which can be updated by using Coges FlashManager software and the special PC interface (cod.844030) or by using the Softkey 256KB service key (in this case a key reader should be temporarily connected to the logic board of the Network Module).
How do you program the operation parameters (ex. e-mail addresses) in a Network Module?
In a Network Module all the inner operation parameters are programmed by means of Coges Contact software and the special PC interface (cod.844030).
What does the 5 LEDs (two green and three red ones) present on the metal-shell of the logic board of a Network Module are useful for?
The 5 LEDs present on the metal-shell of the logic board of a Network Module are some indicators, signalling that: the system is connected (fixed LED A lighted up), presence of the transmission signal (fixed LEDs B,C,D lighted up) and information sending phase (flashing LEDs A,B,C,D, E lighted up).
Furthermore they can indicate some errors concerning above all the installation and the configuration of the SIM card.

What is the portable IR interface?
The portable IR interface is an accessory supplied by Coges, which permits the recording and transmission of the accounting data from the cashless payment systems, by using the RS232 protocols with the systems and the IRDA EVA-DTS protocols with the recording devices present on the market.
What does a portable IR interface consist of?
A portable IR interface consists of a plastic casing which contains the electronic board and which is connected to a CL RS232 key by means of a harness.
How is powered a portable IR interface?
A portable IR interface is powered by a normal 9V battery.
In which Coges payment systems can be recorded the accounting data by using a portable IR interface?
The portable IR interface permits to record the accounting data in all Coges payment systems which support the CL RS232 key.
How does a portable IR interface operate?
A portable IR interface records the data from a payment system in RS232 format (by inserting the special key in the reader), converts them into EVA-DTS format and then transmits them outside via infrared port (IR).
With a portable IR interface is it necessary to download the data on the palmtop after each recording?
Yes, as the portable IR interface hasn't got an inner memory, it keeps the accounting data of a payment system for about 20 minutes before losing them. For this reason after each recoding it is necessary to send the data to the palmtop.
In a portable IR interface how do you know that the accounting data recording from the payment system and the transmission towards the palmtop was successful?
When the portable IR interface is inserted in a key reader, the green LED (power) flashes, while the yellow LED (data) is lighted up and fixed. When the recording is ended, both the LEDs are lighted up and fixed, while during the accounting data transmission towards the palmtop, the yellow LED flashes. At the end of the operations, both the LEDs are switched off.
With a portable IR interface, in order to carry out the sending of the accounting data to a palmtop in a correct way, which distance is recommended?
With a portable IR interface a distance of about 80 cm is recommended, in order to carry out the sending of the accounting data to a palmtop in a correct way.
With a portable IR interface is it possible to understand when the battery charge is failing in order to avoid losing accounting data?
Yes, with a portable IR interface it is possible to understand when the battery charge is failing, because when the key is inserted in the key reader both LEDs start flashing.
Is the portable IR interface equipped with Flash technology?
Yes, the portable IR interface is equipped with a Flash microprocessor, which can be updated each time that a new release of the product is developed.
How do you update the firmware of the portable IR interface?
The firmware of the portable IR interface can be updated by means of the FlashManager software and the special programming interface (cod.844030).

K4U Analyzer
How do you carry out the operator codes programming in the K4U Analyzer terminal?
In the K4U Analyzer terminal the operator codes programming occurs by using the external keypad. The operation, in particular, is carried out as follows: enter the programming with the Enter key (arrow below on the left), when the "Cod.oper.A" message is displayed, enter the 8 digits of the code and confirm again with the Enter key.
To scroll the list of the operator codes use the key with two arrows towards right. While the codes are compiled, a cryptation method is applied which prevents a clear display by reading.
What is a K4U Analyzer terminal?

The K4U Analyzer terminal is a key analyzer which, with the help of the relative PC softwares, permits to read and program different informations inside the CL and MyKey keys and the MyCard cards. Furthermore it permits the complete management of some service keys for the update and programming of the payment systems, in addition to the accounting data and the transaction recording. 
If it is used in the autonomous operation mode, it permits to encode the CL and MyKey keys and the MyCard cards.

What are the electric specifications and the dimensions of a K4U Analyzer terminal?
The dimensions of a K4U Analyzer terminal are: 191x88x240 mm; the power supply is at 12V and the absorbed power is 5,5W.
What does the K4U Analyzer terminal consist of?
The K4U Analyzer terminal consists of a galvanized desk support where are built-in: a Flex Reader, a 16x2 character LCD display, a keyboard for operator code programming, a wall-type power supply and a serial harness for the connection to the serial port of the PC.

The K4U Analyzer terminal , used in "PC connect" mode, permits the reading and encoding of the CL and MyKey keys and of the MyCard cards with the help of the KeyDBasePlus software. In "stand alone" mode, the encoding of the above described supports does not imply the use of any software.

Are there in the K4U Analyzer terminal some particular settings which are necessary for reading and recognizing the type of support inserted in the Flex Reader?
No, the K4U Analyzer terminal can automatically identify the type of support inserted in the Flex Reader. The only programming which is carried out directly on the terminal by means of keypad is the operator codes one. In this way a higher security is guaranteed as far as the confidential nature and the possibility to access the operator code is concerned.
