Coges presents the new Platinum MIFARE® system, an E.C.S. Platinum standard development. Alongside all the main features of the original version, the new system also enables to manage MIFARE cards for the payment of products delivered from vending machines. MIFARE is the most widely installed contactless smartcard technology in the world, with over 500 million microprocessor smart cards and 5 million readers sold. The word “MIFARE” derives from MIkron, the company that developed this technology and which was subsequently bought by Philips, and from the word ‘FARE’. The MIFARE proprietary technology, which is patented by NXP Semiconductors (with registered offices in Hamburg, Germany and in Gratkorn, Austria), is based on the ISO 14443 Type A (RFID 13.56 MHz) standard and is highly widespread, mainly in the sector of access control. This technology is currently very widespread in the world, especially in the sector of access control; this is how the need emerged for the operator to make the best use of cards currently existing in the company and to make them compatible for use with vending machines.
For the new version of the E.C.S. Platinum payment system, which is already well-known and appreciated on the vending market, the intention of Coges is to meet this need and to further increase the versatility of its products and customer satisfaction. |
